Critical Care/Trauma Physician Assistant

A north-central Wisconsin private surgical practice that has a patient draw from a 13-county region throughout Northcentral Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan is currently looking for a Trauma / Acute Care Physician Assistant. The Physician Assistant will assume a primary provider role in the care of patients in a hospital setting.

The Position:

• Analyzes findings to create assessments, initiate treatment plans, and make referrals; performs diagnostics and prescribes treatments for medical and surgical issues.
• Orders and interprets lab tests, administers treatments, and performs routine procedures, including first aid and wound care, while collaborating with physicians.
• Develops and evaluates treatment plans, monitors patient outcomes, and ensures safety and quality standards in care.
• Provides cross coverage of Surgical First Role within the operating room (minimal)
• Completes Hospital rounds with Trauma and Acute Care attending physicians daily. Afternoon rounds may be independent, but MD updates are expected.
• Schedule: 2 then 3 - 12 hour shifts (11am-7pm) M-F and 2 -12 hour shifts (7am-7pm) every other weekend

Apply if you Have

• An Active and Unencumbered Physician Assistant License in the state of Wisconsin
• A Masters Degree in Science, Physician Assistant Studies
• Certification by National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
• Acute Care or Trauma Surgery experience (preferred)
• Experience with Epic Software (preferred)
