We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. This 120-day opportunity is set to begin on Dec 29, 2025, and features a rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts, including weekdays and weekends. The provider will work autonomously in a streamlined model alongside a medical assistant and front desk staff, seeing 40 or more patients per shift in a fast-paced urgent care environment.

  • Schedule: 8am-8pm weekdays, 8am-4pm weekends; 36/40 hour week rotation - most often week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday; week 2: Monday, Thursday, Friday

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide autonomous urgent care for patients of all ages
  • Manage a high daily patient volume in a fast-paced clinical setting
  • Collaborate with a medical assistant and front desk within a streamlined care model
  • Conduct patient evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment for urgent care cases
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic EMR system
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal medical regulations

Additional Information
  • Must have at least 1 year of urgent care or emergency room experience (no new graduates)
  • Ability to work independently is required
  • North Carolina license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certifications required
  • DOT certification required (must obtain if not currently held)
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred
