Schedule:
12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
Estimated 20 shifts per month
No overtime or on-call responsibilities
Patient Management:
Census: 8+ post-operative cardiac ICU patients
Rounds with surgeons and charge RNs daily
Frequent interdisciplinary team collaboration with nursing staff and other providers
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management of ventilators, vasopressors/inotropes, arrhythmias, and devices such as VV/VA ECMO, IABP, Impella, post-transplant care, and VAD.
Perform procedures such as central line and arterial line insertions/removals, intubations/extubations, chest tube management, and pacing wire handling.
Provide comprehensive post-operative care and oversee EVH sites, sternotomy sites, and medications.
Qualifications
Licensure: Active Illinois license required.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and DEA.
Experience: Minimum 1 year as a cardiovascular APP, ICU experience preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in managing critical care scenarios, including ventilators, cardiac support devices, and complex medical management.
Competency in performing ICU-related procedures independently.
