Your Main Objective: Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer responsible for networking, including telephony, VoIP, and videoconferencing (VTC), across our headquarters building and field sites. This role contributes to the larger Network team focused on planning, implementing, and maintaining our global WAN/LAN network infrastructure. Our information technology team thrives in a dynamic, fast-changing environment, and the successful candidate will support multiple organizations from a centralized location, with no travel required.
What Sets You Apart: The ideal candidate will possess experience managing large-scale network deployment, maintenance, and operational tasks. You should have hands-on experience with common network devices (switches, routers, patch panels, etc.), as well as VTC endpoints, core VTC equipment, VoIP implementations, and telephony. Relevant products include Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Meeting Server.
This role necessitates a polygraph clearance and a minimum of 10 years of experience as a network engineer in similar environments. A bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited college is required; alternatively, five years of network engineering experience may substitute for a degree.
Your Responsibilities Will Include: - Assisting in all facets of network management, from design to implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks.
- Analyzing and evaluating networks to identify issues and provide solutions, ensuring efficient network operation.
- Monitoring network and telecommunications performance, addressing anomalies according to established procedures.
- Supporting the deployment of VoIP, VTC, and plain-old telephone systems (POTS).
- Interfacing and communicating with external network operations centers as required.
- Demonstrating a thorough understanding of network services, including TCP/IP, OSPF, and EIGRP, along with practical knowledge of LANs, firewalls, routers, and printers.
- Effectively communicating technical information to both technical team members and non-technical coworkers.
- Installing and configuring new network and telecommunications systems hardware and software.
- Creating and maintaining network telecommunications system diagrams and configuration documentation.
The candidate must currently possess and maintain one of the following certifications:
- Network+ or;
- CCNA Routing & Switching or;
- CCNA Security or;
- CCNA Video or;
- Any equivalent certification as approved.
- Must obtain certification before being accepted on contract.
