Facilities and Compliance Manager

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a dynamic Facilities and Compliance Manager to lead and oversee both the physical compliance program across all locations, as well as offsite Facilities Operations and Maintenance. This role is integral in ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements across all facilities. The manager will work closely with federal, state, and local agencies to navigate regulatory challenges and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and standards. This position will involve the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance programs that cover a wide range of regulations, particularly in the planning and construction phases. The role requires strong leadership and operational expertise, as well as a deep knowledge of regulatory standards related to healthcare facilities, ensuring a high level of compliance and operational efficiency across all locations.

Duties: Facilities and Compliance Manager

Manage and integrates the physical compliance program for all of Nebraska Medicine's facilities/buildings (either owned or leased) across all geographical areas. Work closely with federal, state, local, and other governing agencies to identify all applicable code and regulatory requirements. Develop/implement/document compliance programs and standard operating procedures for the entirety of enterprise of Nebraska Medicine and associated entities. Work closely with other enterprise departments, the Environment of Care (EOC) Committee, external organizational departments and appropriate leaders/administrators to ensure that the physical compliance program fully supports the clinical/operational compliance programs. Evaluate planned facility acquisitions for physical compliance issues. Oversee the compliance infrastructure components of planning and design. Assist in resolving regulatory issues during construction. Manage all aspects of compliance for mission-effective operations. Manage the day-to-day financial and operational issues pertaining to compliance.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of five years' experience in healthcare compliance, facilities management or project management required.
Bachelor's degree in business management, construction management, facilities management, healthcare management or related field OR progressive related experience in the field (1 year experience equals 1 year of education) required.
Familiarity with facility related code/regulatory requirements to include TJC, NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CDC, CGA, ASHRAE, ASME, ASPE, IEEE, AAMI, etc. required
Capable of reading construction documents, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and pneumatic control schematics and diagrams required. Demonstrate leadership skills, specifically in change management and negotiation strategies required. Strong analytic, research, operational and business competencies is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years leadership experience preferred.
Demonstrate computer skills with at least a minimum proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Project, and Access preferred. Use of Facility management related software experience with AutoCAD, Archibus/CAFM or BIM preferred.
Must attain within 1 year of hire. The following NFPA Certifications are preferred: Certified Life Safety Specialist for Health Care Managers (CLSS-HC), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Certified Emergency Power Systems Specialist for Health Care Facility Managers (CEPSS-HC), Certified Sprinkler ITM Specialist for Facility Managers (CSITMS), Certified Fire Alarm ITM Specialist for Facility Managers (CFAITMS).
Certified Hospital Facility Manager (CHFM) preferred.
