The Product Portfolio Manager will manage and develop product-line solutions at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska. This position will lead daily product management functions, serve as a cross-functional stakeholder, support internal processes, and develop key partnerships with the respective Market Segment Leader(s). The Product Portfolio Manager takes a consumer-centric approach to identify key needs of our business, provides product insights based on quantitative and qualitative information, remains aware of industry trends and the competitive landscape, provides opportunity assessments and other product line reports to leadership, and communicates effectively across all levels of the organization with ease.

BCBSNE is happy to offer four work designations for our Omaha area employees: 100% in-office, Hybrid options, and 100% remote. If choosing to work remote, this role can be located in one of the following states: Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Texas.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical implementation, and product distribution. Evaluates program success against financial, operational, and clinical goals and proposes initiatives/changes to meet goals.

  • Identify, develop, and implement short-term and long-term product strategy through the integration of sales, services, claims, underwriting, and pricing functions.

  • Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams in the development and implementation of new product and market initiatives.

  • Coordinate and lead in-depth market, industry, competitive analysis, and positioning information.

  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of new initiatives.

  • Monitor and report on key regulatory or legislative activity regarding assigned product line.

  • Ability to be flexible and responsive â?? being mindful of alternative options to solving challenges.

  • Facilitate strategic planning of assigned product line, including short and long-term blueprints for market share, revenue growth and net profit.

  • Establish relationships with internal/external stakeholders and conduct due diligence reviews and analysis as needed.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelorâ??s degree in business administration, healthcare, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in product management and/or financial services.

  • Based on area of assignment:

  • Ancillary focused role will need experience with dental, vision, and/or pharmacy product management.

  • Healthcare focused role will need experience with healthcare product management.

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing qualitative and quantitative data to inform and support recommendations.

  • Cross-functional leadership experience in a matrix organization.

  • Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate internally and externally with key stakeholders.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.

The ability to meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of their departments.

The ability to work well in a team environment and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers.

The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:
