JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Brook Valley School Principal
Job Title Code: 7009
Number of Days Worked: Works 5 days a week. 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. 220 days
Department: ESU #3, Student Services
FLSA Status: Exempt
Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director of Student Services
Staff Supervised: Brook Valley School Staff
Essential Requirements:
No history of child abuse or negligence.
Minimum of MA/MS in administration
Five years of classroom teaching experience, Special Education preferred
Current NE Teaching Certification/ K-12 NE Administration Certificate
Successfully pass required background checks.
Regular and dependable in person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Supervise Brook Valley School staff and through ESU #3 evaluation procedures, informal evaluations, and activities
Supervise services provided to contracted students including referral, intake, formation and implementation of the Individual Education Plan
Use data-based decision making to lead problem-solving at the individual student level, classroom level, and for building-wide program evaluation
Supervise and maintain student records and educational files for Brook Valley School
Coordinate the acquisition of supplies and maintain building safety and operations, including physical maintenance of the facility with appropriate ESU #3 and school district staff
Coordinate recruitment of personnel including: interviewing and providing recommendations for hiring, onboarding, and new staff training & orientation
Design and implement a school improvement plan and corresponding professional learning plan for Brook Valley School.
Coordinate the representation of Brook Valley School to the educational community, the community at large, and families
Maintain positive relations and communication with colleagues, parents, school representatives, medical professionals, students and the community members at large
Monitor compliance with current state and federal regulatory requirements
Assist in preparation of budgetary/financial records
Communicate and provide information to the ESU #3 administration, as well as the ESU #3 Board and the ESU #3 Student Services Stakeholders
Assist in the supervision of the meal service program for Brook Valley School
Maintain the positive culture and philosophy of Brook Valley School
Communicate areas of concern to appropriate ESU #3 Administrators
Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook
Perform other duties as assigned
